After 30 years of operating food businesses in the Toronto GTA, the Assaad Family, as led by its founding father Khalil, brought the next generation’s dreams together, and folded them into one through creating the destination concept that is El Gourmet.

Grill
Enjoy your meal at our dining area or take it home.
Our butchery promises you the cleanest AAA Halal meat and chicken cuts, marinated with middle eastern flavors, sizzling hot and ready for your personalized combination of Humus, sauce dips, creamy garlic mix and more. Add to this the impeccable tasty Shawarma, Kafta, Kabab Intably and many others, and your choice of grill will be forever changed. We prepare skewers, hamburgers, and other BBQ services; any special order can be placed ahead of time!
Butchery
At El Gourmet, the butcher is not only a seasoned master, but is quite an artist. Where great care is needed to get your clean cuts in shape for that steak dinner or outdoor barbecue, El Gourmet’s butcher with his two-decade-long experience is sure to hand you over carefully boned-out, firmly fresh portions that will leave you coming back for more.
Bakery
Fresh bread, zaatar or cheese manakeesh, spinach-filled fatayer, lahmoujain… one batch of famous Lebanese delicacies rolls out after another from El Gourmet’s in-store, live bakery, to warm your heart and feast your senses. Everything is so meticulously rolled, richly filled and baked just enough to leave you satisfied yet craving for more.
You simply cannot walk out of El Gourmet before you have eaten some off the bakery counter and ordered some to take-away. Try it. It’s heavenly!
Grocery
The grocery brings you unique items to create wonders in your kitchen, including those authentic products brought to you all the way from Lebanese village homes to locally sourced suppliers. We’ve exerted every effort to bring you the best of Lebanon’s extra virgin olive oil, authentic molasses, incredibly delicious fruit-based jams, the best from our olive trees, vine leaves, walnut stuffed eggplants, and much much more.
Shopping for authenticity is made simple at El Gourmet. The home village taste is embedded in every product. We aim for bringing you all that is natural, richly nutritious, and free from additives and preservatives or harmful substances. El Gourmet grocery shelves bring you nature in a spoon.
Patisserie
With its daily Lebanese delicacies, leave your taste buds feeling like royalty. Here, the Kunafa is like no other, a feast to the senses, with its super tasty melted cheese topped by a delicious crust dipped in just the right dose of sugar syrup.
